Dennis Wage with Grammy

Dennis Wage

Dennis Wage has been a professional musician since his early teens, beginning organ lessons at age six and performing at local venues by thirteen, quickly mastering sight-reading and music theory. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance with an emphasis in Music Business while raising a family, Dennis moved to Nashville in 1989 to pursue a full-time music career.

Over the next two decades, he became a sought-after studio musician and “song doctor,” playing on thousands of songwriter demos and backing hundreds of artists in the house band, including Vince Gill, Tim McGraw, and Little Steven. He briefly owned a recording studio, honing skills as an audio engineer, before touring with T. Graham Brown.

In 2015, Dennis joined Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Delbert McClinton’s band, co-writing and recording Tall Dark and Handsome, which won a Grammy in 2020 for Best Traditional Blues. Now back in Wisconsin, Dennis continues to perform with the state’s top blues and R&B acts, including Barefoot Trio, The Blues Disciples, The Jay Edward Band, Alex Wilson, Altered 5 (sub), and Rev Raven and the Chain Smokin’ Altar Boys.
